Tbh, it makes a lot of sense. Our body and physical potential is fully developed between the middle 20's to middle 30's, and after that theoretically we all start suffering gradual, even if very slow, degradation. Therefore many may consider (with arguable reason) these the golden ages. Youngers want to reach it and olders want to keep it. Simple as that usually.

I'd like to stay like as i'm now, forever.

Note that i'm not considering life experiences into this. Just physical.
I don't mean to forget this is also the ages where one starts to gain independent status, be it finantial be it emotional or even social. Starts to be considered an autonomous mind with no parental control. Another good look into the adult age.

One could rewrite your advice as "don't you hurry into growing, take your time". I would advice into avoiding abuses though. Sooner or later abuses will show you the bill.
While i wouldn't like to go back to my teen ages since i had some not so good experiences, i do still like to remember many steps through it. Nevertheless i do love a lot my life since my 18 and forth, particularly since my 25. As i said above "I'd like to stay like as i'm now, forever"

Sometime i do feel a little jealous of Peter Pan.
